DocsCorp, (www.docscorp.com) a global leader in PDF integration and workflow technology, today announced that neither the company nor its products were affected by the recent court ruling against Microsoft in its lawsuit with i4i.
The lawsuit by Toronto-based i4i claimed that Microsoft had infringed its patented XML handling algorithm. The court has found in favor of i4i and issued a permanent injunction against sales of Word 2003, Word 2007, and any future versions of Word that can open .xml, .docx, or .docm files containing "custom XML.”
DocsCorp President - Research and Development, Shane Barnett, stated that the company and its products are not adversely affected by the ruling and that successful testing had been completed on versions of Word with the “custom XML” feature removed. No action in relation to this Microsoft/i4i matter is required by any DocsCorp client.
