How to launch the application

When you launch the pdfDocs application, it displays in the Backstage view. From here you can open recently viewed documents or projects. Or, navigate to a document or project on your local or network drive as well as your document management system.

Open a document

1. Double-click on the PDF document in your local or network drive.
The document opens directly in pdfDocs.

Open a document within pdfDocs

1. Click on the pdfDocs icon.
The application displays in Backstage View.
2. Click on any document in the Recent list. If there are no documents listed, click on the Computer option.
3. Click on the [Browse] button and navigate to the document on your local or network drive.
4. Select the document and click the [Open] button.
The document displays in Single Document mode.

Open a document in a document management system

1. Open the pdfDocs application.
The application displays in Backstage View.
2. Click on the [HP WorkSite] button, or the button for your particular document management system.
3. Click the [Browse] button.
The Open dialog box for HP WorkSite displays.
4. Navigate to the document.
5. Select the document and click the [Open] button.
The document opens in pdfDocs.

Open an Organizer Project in My Organizers folder

1. Select File > Open.
2. Click the Computer option in the Backstage view.
3. Click the [Browse] button and navigate to the default location for Organizer Projects, c:/users/name/My Documents/My Organizers.
4. Select the appropriate .POP file.
The Organizer Project displays in pdfDocs.

Open a Binder Project in My Binders folder

1. Select File > Open.
2. Click the Computer option in the Backstage view.
3. Click the [Browse] button and navigate to the default location for Binder Projects, c:/users/name/My Documents/My Binders.
4. Select the appropriate .BDR file.
The Binder Project displays in pdfDocs.
