OCR Desktop is an optional module for pdfDocs and compareDocs providing additional functionality and workflows to these products.
Used in conjunction with pdfDocs, users may choose to OCR specific documents, or administrators can leverage multi-function devices and pdfDocs Watchfolders to provide automated workflows whereby all documents are converted to text searchable PDFs.

With OCR Desktop, compareDocs provides users with a number of useful workflows:
- Compare paper documents
- Compare image files
- Compare PDFs and output the comparison as a MS Word document
- Compare any two supported document types and output the comparison to a MS Word document
