Good news, developers. Our document comparison software development kit – compareDocs SDK –got an upgrade and now includes an improved deployment method using NuGet packaging. But there's lots of other new features, too. Let's take a closer look at what has changed.
Improved deployment with a NuGet package
To make life easier for developers we changed the way our compareDocs SDK is deployed. A NuGet package means the code can be installed more easily and developers can start work on integrating its functionality sooner. The NuGet package works with Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5. However, if you wish to use the SDK from a different platform a command-line application can be created in .NET Framework 4.5 to interface with the calling application or service.
Improved PDF comparisons
We have incorporated recent enhancements from the compareDocs desktop into the compareDocs SDK update. These include filler pages being added in Side-by-Side comparison reports, so they don't end up out of order if a page is added or deleted in the comparison documents. Header & Footer margins can be excluded from the comparison document to reduce the chance of false positives.
Better summary reporting
We have improved the summary reporting for PDF comparisons – introducing pie charts that sum up change distributions and percentage distributions – so it is even easier to see what has changed between documents.
There are other improvements and changes in this release that we know anyone looking for a compare SDK would love and make full use of.
