When pdfDocs was first developed by a small team of people in 2003, we were focussed on how people would use it for PDF editing and bundling on their desktop machines. Back then, users were still very much tied to the office and didn’t have nearly the same mobility with hardware as they do now.
Many features in pdfDocs have since been optimized to work on tablets, and laptop/tablet hybrids as more organizations move away from traditional desktop hardware. We want our applications to move with you, and work wherever and whenever you need them.
This brings us to a feature now available in pdfDocs: A Pencil tool optimized for a better stylus experience.
Smooth inking at your fingertips
As I’ve said before, writing on a PDF with a stylus should be seamless. There shouldn’t be a lag between putting stylus to screen and seeing the annotation appear. Pencil lines shouldn’t be blurry and certainly shouldn’t end up inches away from where you tried to place them.
The Pencil tool in pdfDocs has been developed with smooth inking at its core, so the PDF editing experience is as free-flowing on a tablet as it would be with pen and paper.
Freedom to change your mind
Why is it that in so many PDF file editors you can erase the whole annotation but not just a small section? With the pdfDocs Pencil tool, you can choose how much or how little you want to erase. Remove part of a line or the whole thing; erase the old date and pencil in a new one. It’s up to you. You have the freedom to change your mind.
We’re really excited for current pdfDocs users to try the new Pencil tool for themselves. To do so, visit the Resource Portal and update to the latest version of pdfDocs.
Interested in trying the Pencil tool but don’t have pdfDocs? Request a free trial, and you can start to make an impression on your tablet today.
